During my spring break trip to Colorado, I decided to visit the New Belgium Brewing Company and take a guided tour.  The tour was absolutly amazing!  You learned not only how they brewed and bottled their famous beverages but you learned about their history and interesting facts about their employee owned company.  The tour started off with a sample of their new Lips of Faith beer.  Lips of Faith is their coined term for beer they are only brewing once.  We were also instructed on how to properly drink the beer out of a wine glass. Yes a wine glass.  When drinking craft brewed beers it is much like drinking wine, the color and all the flavors are to be savored and taken in.  I never knew beer could be so many shades of beautiful colors! But anyways a good swirl and a sniff of the beer before drinking it is neccessary to enjoy all of the flavors it has to offer.  Next we moved on to the bottling plant where we not only saw how they bottle the beer but we also found out they are a very green company. They recycle and donate by-products that are usable to local farmers.  The company also is employee owned.  At an employees one year anniversary they are given their share of the company and a New Belgium bike, for which the company is named.  I also learned that many people refer to their most famous beer as Flat Tire, however it really called Fat Tire. After learning all these interesting facts we were then instructed to slide down a windy slide to get to the next part of the brewery.  Everyone from the 21 year olds to the 60 year old man on our tour went down the slide!  After touring this brewery I have fallen in love with their beers!.  They are delightfully good and there is a beer for every taste.  Their India Pale Ale is some of the best I have ever tasted and their Sunshine Wheat really does taste like summer! Any one who has the chance should definatly tour the brewery and absolutley try any of their beers! Their website is also hilarious and definatly worth checking out!   My next Blog will be about Mojo India Pale Ale and Flying Dog variety pack!  Any beer suggestions are welcome!  Happy Drinking!
